In Loving Memory of…

Fiona

We read Fiona’s story in a local newspaper and immediately wanted to meet her. She was an older cat, surrendered by her family in May and we thought she’d be an excellent companion to our own older cat. We called and the shelter volunteers were so excited that we were interested in her. I guess there is not much call for an 11 year old cat. As soon as we met her, and she jumped in my lap purring, we wanted to take her home, but had to wait until the did our background checks. We got the call a week later that she was ours! As soon as we got her home she settled into our routine perfectly, spending mornings with me “helping” me read the paper, to evenings on our laps. A few months later, we realized she was not acting her kittenish self and took her to the vet, starting a long and difficult journey, which led to her being put to sleep on Oct. 25th. It is still so hard to believe she is gone and we love her so much.
